The Catalan athlete, Albert Jimenez, won the first edition of the Half Marathon of Ibiza in a time of 4:26:38. He was 55 seconds faster than Víctor Benegas, the runner up, and Ciro Tobar, who led the race for most of the route, but ended up in a creditable third place. In the women’s race, the Basque Ainara Pacheco won with authority in a time of 5:06: 42. The first ‘Ibizan’ home was Daniel Gonzalez of Triatló Santa Eulària who, after falling behind in the swimming and cycling sections, caught up time on the run. Gonzalez crossed the finish line almost eight minutes behind Jimenez.
