Bauza regrets the delay in radiotherapy, but says, “it will become a reality” in Ibiza

President of the Government, José Ramón Bauzá, at the Debate del Estado de la Comunidad, which took place in Parliament yesterday, lamented the “delay” in providing radiotherapy services to Ibiza and Menorca but said “it will be a reality.”
Bauza also announced a comprehensive reform of direct taxes for the Islands in 2015 and pledged to settle the delays in the Ley de Dependencia next year. The reform aims “to put €60 million in the pockets of Balearic citizens, reduce direct taxes on the autonomous region and increase the income of citizens of the islands by €250 million over the next two years.” Consequently, Income Tax, Inheritance Tax, Gift Tax, transfer tax on used vehicles and all community fees will be reduced.
In addition, he announced an investment of more than €7 billion in the Puertos de les Illes Baleares (Ports IB), which will enable the improvement of ten port facilities, including Sant Antoni port.
During the plenary session he also highlighted the €40 million budgeted this year to finance residential care homes and day centres and announced his intention to end “the historic deficit” suffered in this area of the island of Ibiza with the forthcoming opening of a centre in Sant Antoni, which will cater for 70 people.
