Formentera Tourist Board reject transfer of powers

The Formentera Tourist Board have unanimously decided to reject the terms offered by the Balearic Government for the transfer of powers to promote tourism. In a meeting yesterday they referred to consultations in October 2013, which ensure that any transfer should be made on the principle of “sufficient funding”. The Councillor for Tourism, Alejandra Ferrer, said that the proposal of the Balearic executive is “unacceptable” and demanded an explanation as to why only €5.3 million of the €18 million is destined for the Pitiuses.
