Whales sighted that have been injured in collisions with boats

Scientists and volunteers from the Tursiops Association have sighted about 20 whales (Physeter macrocephalus) in Balearic waters during a research campaign conducted over the summer to study this endangered species in the Mediterranean.
During their mission, biologists have made a discovery described as ‘disturbing’, having found a social group of female sperm whales of whom up to four different animals had wounds or scars from collisions with vessels. These whales were all found in an area off Ibiza that registers intense nautical traffic.
