Kuhn’s lawyer says he has “the paperwork to present his complaint” against the president of GEN

The lawyer representing Matthias Kühn, the majority shareholder of the development company that has been using the island of Tagomago for tourism purposes, went to Court yesterday to file Mr Kühn’s request for compensation for libel against the president of GEN, Joan Carles Palerm, who did not appear. “I’m not a hundred percent sure that the court will grant it, but I have been instructed to lodge a complaint [against Palerm] for libel,” said the lawyer. Kühn has asked for 60,000 euros for the criticisms made by GEN of him. GEN referred to him as a “speculator” and a developer who “unscrupulous and continually violates the law.”

Yesterday, Palerm said, “Between freedom of expression and the right to honour is a fine line, and the press do not alter the perception that society has of it, so we are sure that this will not be a consequence for us.”
