Formentera rejects Port Authority Es Cap café plan

The president of the Consell de Formentera, Jaume Ferrer, has objected to a letter sent by Alberto Pons, president of the Port Authority, to request the Consell’s collaboration in the installation of a coffee bar at the Cap de Barbaria lighthouse, as part of the ‘Faros de España’ project promoted by the Ministry of Development.

Jaume Ferrer objects to this collaboration as “the lighthouse of Es Cap is highly strategic to Formentera. It is a place that offers a purity and silence difficult to match, and to Formentera offers much benefit in its ability to attract travellers and visitors.”

Ferrer expects the government’s Bauzà” to keep his word and help the Consell to stop this project.”
