Green light for the draft to build the underground car park next to the city wall

The Planning Commission of the Ayuntamiento of Vila has given the green light to the draft to build an underground car park next to the city wall, in the space now occupied by the Reina Sofía park.

As reported by the Ayuntamiento, the draft, which has obtained the approval of the Ponencia técnica del Pepri envisages the construction of four underground plants that would accommodate about 320 cars and also have room for 110 motorcycles, that will contribute towards alleviate the lack of parking in the neighbourhood.

The construction would take a buried surface 14,104 square metres, which would be covered on the outside by a green area of 12,481 square metres, which would replace the Reina Sofia Park.

The budget for the work amounts to €6.9 million. However, before developing the project and proceeding to tender, the Ayuntamiento must send the draft to the Comisión Insular de  Urbanismo y Patrimonio Histórico Artístico for the issuing of a binding report.
