Part of Sant Joan road closed for this winter’s entensive renovation

The Consell hope to get the work done “as quickly as possible” in order that the entire project is completed before the starting of the 2016 season.

The stretch of the road to Sant Joan (C-733) that has been closed to traffic today runs between kilometer 8 (rotonda de los Cazadores) and kilometer 10.6 (Trull d’en Vic).

Access is now only available to residents, businesses, services and public transport.

The road signs have been modified to warn drivers and recommend alternative routes via the road to Sant Miquel, or by diversion to the PMV-810.2.

Work on this stretch is expected to cause delays throughout the month of November. However, that will be pending the final asphalting work, which is to be completed during the next phase of works.

There have been unforeseen changes to the project (such as that caused by the discovery of a cave serving as main residence for a protected species of bats), which have extended the initial deadline for the end of works in February 2016.
