Now Ibiza is getting quieter and closing parties are almost at an end, it’s time for the island to breathe a big sigh of relief and put on some freebies for the residents and workers as a thanks for all their hard work this summer – so here’s a breakdown of 5 ‘no entrance fee’ events for this October…
5. Ibiza Spirit Festival
When: Sunday 2nd October
About: Ibiza Spirit Festival is all about health and well-being, spirituality and creativity. Technically this is a free event although it’s nice to leave a donation, as they are a non-profit organisation that supports local charities with a focus on children with special needs. A celebration of positive energy and alternative ways of living – the festival will take place in the gardens of Atzaro where there will be lots of things to see and do for both adults and children alike.
4. Cala Llenya Sunday Market
When: Every Sunday
Where: Cala Llenya
About: Technically this market is free and open all year – not just October – but it’s now when all of the tourists have started to leave and locals are around to man the stalls once again, when this market is at it’s best. The weather is not too hot or too cold yet – there are bands playing and array for second-hand and artisan goods, plus a lot of great food to choose from! It’s a great way to spend a day out as a family – without having to put your hand in your pocket… unless you want to of course!
3. Oktoberfest with DUO Ibiza
When: 16th October from 12pm onwards
Where: Duo Ibiza
About: Who doesn’t love drinking beer and raising money for cute puppies at the same time? This October the 16th, the dog rescue charity DUO Ibiza, celebrate all things German at their HQ, with traditional Deutsch delicacies and of course beer – while raising money for the great work they do re-homing vulnerable dogs.
2. Long Distance Triathlon Ibiza
When: 25th October
Where: Figueretas beach
About: In the pleasant temperatures of October, the little island of Ibiza has all your need to host a triathlon … the race takes place on Figueretas beach and covers a lot of the important a cultural spots in Ibiza. Attracting international and local competitors alike, it is a great place to be impressed by the combination of a running (30km), cycling (120km) and swimming (4km)… and the best part of all is, it’s free to come along and watch and support.

When: 31st October
Where: Casa Colonial
About: Is there anywhere spookier to spend you fright night, than than a big ole’ haunted house?! Well be afraid, be very afraid – that entry to Casa Colonial’s Halloween party this year is free and it’s scarier than ever!
