Ibiza Autumn Food Festival

Foodies take note! Ibiza Sabor 16′ (or Ibiza Flavours 16) this years island-wide food festival is currently underway on our little island and will be continuing right on through to the end of the month. The tourist board have chosen to host the festival now, in October/November not only because the island is a little more tranquil, but also because this is the perfect time of year for it’s classic produce – Virgin Olive Oil, that is steeped in the history and culture of the the island. So this year the White Isle is holding The 1st Olive Oil Festival of Ibiza, that will take place at the historic oil press at Cas Costes, those participating will get to enjoy a tour of the ancient site as well as a tasting session.

UNESCO considers Mediterranean gastronomy an ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity’ and in homage to this and of course Ibizan ingredients in particular, the festival is unique in that it’s taking place across 40 restaurants through-out Ibiza, in the form of two special menus…

MENU 1: EXCELLENT IBIZAN MENUS AT 20€
(This is excluding drinks and features a range of typical Ibicenco ingredients cooked or seasoned in local oils).

MENU 2: TAPAS WITH BEER OR GLASS OF WINE AT 5€
These include smaller local tapas portions with one beer or one wine.

To find out which venues are participating and during which hours, check out their Ibiza Sabor Guide.

Children aren’t left out of the culinary delights either, with specialised workshops being held for by chef, Íñigo Rodríguez from Pacha’s world famous restaurant. Kids will learn here how to prepare a traditional medieval recipe in a modern day way – there are only 12 spaces so be sure to book your kids in quick! ibizasabor@gmail.com.
