Markets in Ibiza

Ibiza can’t get enough of a market… Whether it’s a Hippy Market, Rastillo (second hand market) or Farmers Market – the White Isle is bursting with them – here are a few of our favourites…


Cala Llenya

When: Every Sunday from around 9am – 4:30pm.
All year round (although peaks in the winter when it’s busier with locals).
Where: Cala Llenya, around 10 minutes north of Santa Eulalia.
About: Cala Llenya Sunday market in Ibiza is the perfect place for a family day out – as well as one of the largest selections of second hand stalls to be found on the island, they also have live music – usually rock cover bands, playing by the busy bar where you can grab yourself a traditional German Bratwurst – or head opposite to the on-site restaurant where you can choose between traditional paella or tortilla. If it’s nice weather, expect a to queue with a big crowd.

Forada Market
When: Every Saturday from 10am – 4pm
Where: Forada is between Santa Ines & San Rafael (this is really a rural market location) it’s close to Can Tixedo art bar.
About: The closest thing to a full blown farmer’s market that exists in Ibiza, Forada takes place every Saturday morning. Where you can enjoy a Vegetarian paella for 5€,  purchase local organic produce (such as marmalades and local wines) and of course home-grown fruit veg and freshly laid eggs – from authentic Ibicenco farmers and artisans. Casita verde also has a stall there when you can sample there home-grown aloe vero products and eco snacks while you enjoy the live music.

Sant Jordi
When: Every Saturday from 9am – 3pm
All year round (although peaks in the winter when it’s busier with locals).
Where: Sant Jordi Hippodrome, Sant Jordi de Ses Salinas (around 10 minutes between the airport and Ibiza Town)
About: Sant Jordi Hippodrome is really a unique location to hold a market; an interesting mix second and artisan stools with a clientele of people from all over the world makes a great way to spend a sunny Saturday morning on the island.

Las Dalias
When: Every Saturday from 10am April – October
(There are also night markets on various days through-out the summer season, as well as a Christmas market).
Where: Las Dalias, San Carlos (Around 5 minutes north of Santa Eulalia)
About: Speaking about markets in Ibiza and not mentioning Las Dalias, is like speaking about clubbing in Ibiza without mentioning Pacha. The oldest, most famous and probably busiest market on the island – is like hippy mecca for all those who love creative alternative fashion, art, food and music – it’s beautiful location and play area for kids is the perfect stop for a day out in the summer, and you can hunt some truly authentic pieces not to be found anywhere else on the island.

San Juan

When: Every Sunday from 10:30am
Where: San Juan Village Centre (north of the island).
About: Live music in and around the surrounding bars, food and drink from local producers and a wide array of unique handmade artisans goods – make up the high quality, highly individual stalls at San Juan market every Sunday. The village of san Juan itself is also really beautiful and quaint making – and that adds to the markets great atmosphere.

Hippy Market Punta Arabí ( Es Canar)
When: Every Wednesday from 10am – 6pm, April – October
Where: Club Punta Arabi, Es Canar (north of the island, about 5-10minutes north of Santa Eulalia).
About: The oldest of the hippy markets, it was establish in 1973.  There is not much in terms of size between Las Dalias and the second largest hippy market on the island, Hippy Market Punta Arabí. It’s also set in the beautiful North East of the island in the gorgeous Punta Arabi club, live music and a multi-coloured kids area make it a great family excursion.

Gorila Hippy Market San Antonio
When: Tuesday & Thursday from 10am throughout the summer season
Where: Calle Es Caló, San Antonio
About: The west side of the island is not be left out of all of the hippy market action, with it’s very own Gorila Hippy Market every Tuesday and Thursday where you can find a wide range of individual jewellery, fashion and art.
