Foodies take note – the fall edition of “Ibiza Sabor” is back – from 16 of October to 10 of December!
These gastronomic days are planned to celebrate the authentic taste of Ibiza. Although the island nature and vivid nightlife are known all over the world, its gastronomy and the extraordinary richness of the locally produced food are still far from reaching the island’s international fame.
The tourist board have chosen to host the festival now, in October/November not only because the island is a little more tranquil, but also because this is the perfect time of year to enjoy its classic products – Virgin Olive Oil, Wine, Almond, “sobrasada & butifarra” (typical Ibizan sausages).
UNESCO considers Mediterranean gastronomy an ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity’ and in homage to this and of course Ibizan ingredients in particular, the festival is unique in that it’s taking place across many restaurants through-out Ibiza, in the form of two special menus focusing on local seasonal produce and Ibiza gastronomy tradition…
MENU 1: EXCELLENT IBIZAN MENUS AT 25€
(This is excluding drinks and features a range of typical Ibicenco ingredients cooked or seasoned in local oils).
MENU 2: TAPAS WITH BEER OR GLASS OF WINE AT 7€
These include smaller local tapas portions with one beer or one wine.
Thanks to autumn’s mild climate, you can still enjoy all these delicious food right on the beach, surrounded by the beauty of the campo or the historical settings of Dalt Villa.
In addition to enjoying menus and special tapas, many workshops, also for kids, will be held with the local seasonal produce as a protagonist. You can also enjoy activities to discover the cultural and gastronomic heritage of the island, like the guided tour to historical mills, conference with fishermen and much more.
